Newnham Bridge revisited

A couple of years ago I wrote a post about the disused station at Newnham Bridge in Worcestershire. It had been empty for many years. Over the last couple of months refurbishment work has started.

The work is currently focusing on the main station house, the buildings are all being preserved and renovated. According to the builders I spoke to last week, there are plans for another house on each end of the site, the original application to demolish the lot and place ten houses on the site was, thankfully, rejected.

However the current planning application is just for the refurbishment of the existing buildings and doesn’t mention the new dwellings, this could be a later application possibly.

  1. I spotted this station today travelling west towards Ludlow. I was surprised how intact it looked, but could easily disappear behind new housing. I hope it is listed.
